Palazzo Ex Unione Militare
The Fuksas study design in front of the Grand Hotel Plaza
Is definitely one of the most ambitious projects of commercial architecture and interesting currently under construction in the Capital.
This is the new megastore Benetton in the building that was before the Union Military Palace and then some editing were there, most notably one those of the Corriere della Sera.
In the Historical Building of 1901, which overlooks Via Tomacelli and Via del Corso, in front of the Grand Hotel Plaza, and that rises four floors, is redefining an area of 5900 square meters of Exhibitions.
By architect Massimiliano Fuksas and his wife Doriana Mandrelli, the interior spaces become a veritable cloud of steel and glass that surround the core of the service rooms and will surface on the coverage of the existing building.
"The roof of the building," says architect Fuksas is "an extraordinary place which take advantage of the changes in the Roman rooftops. “The idea we had is to build inside the building a sort of metal and glass lamp, which comes up to the roof and to let discover from there the city to visitors, but that also becomes vantage point. "
To see what is already considered as the most beautiful of all the Benetton store in the world had to wait until 2013, which provides for the completion of work.
